![]() ![]() Through a partnership with iControl Networks, Logitech says it's looking to extend control to other systems, such as ADT Pulse, Comcast Xfinity Home and Time Warner. The Ultimate Home will also work with SmartThings and PEQ smart home hubs. Also, the fact that the Logitech Hub lacks Zigbee and Z-Wave receivers (unlike, say, the Wink) means that devices that use those wireless standards will have to connect to another hub before you could control them with the Ultimate Home. However, other popular devices, such as the Dropcam, were not supported as of this writing. Aside from the Philips Hue lights and Nest thermostat, the remote can also control Lutron Caseta lighting, Lutron Serena window shades, August smart locks and the Honeywell smart Wi-Fi thermostat. While not as expansive as a smart home hub such as the Quirky Wink, the Logitech Ultimate Home can control a number of smart home devices. So, to the Watch DishTV activity, I could also have the Philips Hue lights turn on to a preset brightness, the Nest thermostat change to a particular temperature, and the Lutron shades drop to a certain level. For example, I created an Activity called Watch DishTV, which turned on the TV, my satellite box and my stereo, and turned them all to the correct settings. InterfaceĬentral to the Harmony Ultimate Home's interface are macros, called Activities, which let you control a number of devices with the push of one button. However, if the firmware on the remote needs to be updated, you'll still have to plug it into your laptop via USB. As a bonus, you can control your entire home theater setup using the Harmony app. I found this setup to be much easier than previous Harmony remotes. Then it lets you add favorite channels, by entering your ZIP code, and selecting your cable or satellite provider. If you previously had a Harmony remote, the app will then copy the settings to your new remote. Then, I paired the app to the hub, and connected the hub to my Wi-Fi network. (You'll also need to create a free Harmony account). I’m guessing that your harmony hub’s having some connection issues, and that’s preventing the smartthings hub from finding it.I plugged in the hub as well as the two IR blasters, then downloaded the free Harmony app to my iPhone 5s. –Check the harmony app on your phone, is it able to connect to your hub via wifi? –I also configure static dhcp reservations for all my hubs/servers, doing this prevents them from receiving different ip addresses when the router is rebooted. –I was not able to get my hub working consistently until I configured my router to use a fixed wifi channel, (vs an automatic setting.) –The harmony hub is showing a green LED right?, if it’s not then the hub is having wifi connection issues for sure. –Go into the harmony app, find the about section, get the IP of the hub, then see if you can ping the hub, first from an ethernet port, then over wifi (many routers have a ping utility you can access from the config utility) –The Harmony and smart things hubs need to be on the same network (meaning share the same network mask) this will be the case when the devices are connected to the same router/access point. I do appreciate you help, Mike, and would appreciate any additional assistance from you or any others. It’s not a super huge issue, as SmartThings is a big step up from where I was, however, this is functionality I specifically bought both of these units together to achieve. If you click it, you still cannot find the Harmony, but it seems to be working as I can control SmartThings items via Harmony. The “Allow you to integrate your Logitech Harmony Hub with SmartThings” app was automatically installed when I set up SmartThings on my Harmony Home Control. The SmartThings Labs app, “Trigger Logitech Harmony Activities when certain actions take place in your home” will not find a device when I select “connect new” and therefore will not install, at all. However Both SmartThings Labs apps do not see any connected harmony hubs when they search. Turn down the lights when I watch a movie). So I’ve done what you suggested and it seems that the SmartThings app still can’s see any harmony hubs (I have the new Harmony Home Control).Īgain, the Harmony can see Smartthings and I have many devices successfully connected (i.e. ![]()
